“Kalau selama ini sering salah shade pas beli online, jangan cuma lihat angka atau foto katalognya. Yang paling penting justru pahami tekstur dan coverage produknya dulu,” kata perempuan yang akran disapa Dinzzur ini.
Ia menjelaskan, beberapa brand biasanya menggunakan kode khusus seperti NC atau W untuk menandai undertone, sementara angka menunjukkan tingkat warna kulit. Namun, tidak semua produk memakai sistem tersebut. Pada produk dengan penamaan sederhana seperti 01 sampai 06, pembeli perlu lebih jeli membaca jenis formula yang ditawarkan.
Dinzzur mencontohkan, cushion dengan tekstur ringan seperti skin tint cenderung lebih fleksibel digunakan meski shade yang dipilih sedikit meleset. Produk jenis ini biasanya tetap menyatu dengan kulit dan tidak terlihat terlalu kontras setelah dibaurkan.
“Kalau formulanya ringan dan natural, misalnya mirip skin tint, salah satu tingkat shade biasanya masih bisa diakalin. Hasilnya tetap masuk ke kulit dan nggak kelihatan dempul,” jelasnya.
Sebaliknya, untuk cushion atau foundation dengan coverage tinggi, kesalahan memilih undertone bisa sangat terlihat. Wajah bisa tampak terlalu tebal dan warna complexion menjadi tidak natural.

Menurut Dinzzur, perbedaan utama antarshade pada beberapa cushion justru lebih terlihat dari undertone, seperti pinkish, yellowish, atau peach. Sementara shade pada tingkat lebih gelap biasanya cenderung netral dan menyesuaikan rentang medium hingga tan skin tone.
Ia menyarankan calon pembeli online untuk menjadikan dua hal sebagai acuan utama sebelum checkout, yakni tekstur produk dan tingkat coverage. Dengan begitu, risiko salah shade bisa diminimalkan.
“Kalau brand-nya shades-nya terbatas, jangan langsung patok ke katalog. Kadang hasil di kulit aslinya beda banget sama foto. Jadi cek dulu teksturnya, coverage-nya, baru pilih shade yang paling mendekati,” kata Dinda.
Selain itu, Dinzzur menyebut produk cushion bertekstur cair cenderung lebih aman untuk pemula karena mudah dibaurkan dan memberikan hasil akhir natural. Efeknya juga membuat kulit tampak lebih segar dan muda, sehingga cocok bagi mereka yang masih belajar menentukan shade complexion secara mandiri.
