JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Malang mewaspadai potensi kebakaran di sejumlah titik rawan selama musim kemarau, terutama di Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) TPA Supit Urang serta kawasan permukiman padat penduduk.

Kepala Pelaksana BPBD Kota Malang, Prayitno, mengatakan bahwa langkah mitigasi telah disiapkan menyusul arahan dari pemerintah provinsi terkait potensi dampak El Nino. “Berdasarkan rakor dengan provinsi, kami di setiap daerah sudah diminta untuk melakukan mitigasi untuk mewaspadai dampak El Nino, terkait cuaca panas dan kebakaran,” ujarnya.

Ia menjelaskan, karakter titik rawan kebakaran di Kota Malang berbeda dengan daerah yang memiliki hutan atau lahan kering luas. Keterbatasan ruang terbuka hijau membuat potensi kebakaran lebih banyak dipicu aktivitas manusia, khususnya di area pengelolaan sampah dan lingkungan permukiman.

Salah satu lokasi yang menjadi perhatian utama adalah TPA Supit Urang. Menurut Prayitno, kebakaran di lokasi tersebut kerap dipicu oleh tumpukan sampah yang menghasilkan gas metana, yang mudah terbakar saat suhu udara meningkat.

“Di Kota Malang ini lahan dan hutan terbatas, sehingga yang diantisipasi adalah tempat pembuangan sampah. Biasanya di TPA Supit Urang terjadi kebakaran akibat tumpukan sampah yang mengandung gas metan, ditambah cuaca kemarau yang panas,” jelasnya.

Selain itu, BPBD juga mengidentifikasi wilayah dengan vegetasi tertentu seperti rumpun bambu sebagai titik rawan, terutama saat kondisi cuaca kering berkepanjangan.

Meski demikian, penanganan teknis kebakaran tetap menjadi kewenangan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Pemadam Kebakaran (Damkar) Satpol PP Kota Malang. BPBD lebih berfokus pada upaya mitigasi dan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat.

Langkah yang dilakukan antara lain melalui edukasi kebencanaan dan pelatihan bagi relawan di tingkat RT/RW serta penguatan program kelurahan tangguh bencana.

Untuk kawasan permukiman padat, risiko kebakaran umumnya dipicu oleh faktor kelalaian, seperti penggunaan sumber api yang tidak hati-hati maupun korsleting listrik. “Kalau permukiman padat, kami sudah melakukan edukasi untuk mitigasi bencana. Tetapi biasanya lebih ke kelalaian penggunaan sumber api, korsleting listrik, dan sebagainya,” katanya.

Prayitno menegaskan, peran BPBD dalam konteks ini adalah memperkuat kesadaran masyarakat agar lebih waspada terhadap potensi bencana non-hidrometeorologi yang dapat terjadi sewaktu-waktu, terutama di tengah cuaca panas ekstrem. “Sesuai tupoksi kami, kami lebih mengingatkan warga untuk berhati-hati dalam persoalan kebencanaan selain hidrometeorologi,” pungkasnya.
