JATIMTIMES Universitas Brawijaya (PSDKU UB) Kediri resmi melepas 295 mahasiswa peserta Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN ). Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari komitmen kampus dalam memperkuat peran mahasiswa sebagai agen perubahan yang mampu hadir, belajar, dan memberikan kontribusi nyata di tengah masyarakat.
Dalam laporan Ketua KKN PSDKU UB Kediri Dr. Hariadi Darmawan , Ph.D menyampaikan bahwa peserta KKN tahun ini berjumlah 295 mahasiswa yang terbagi ke dalam 25 kelompok. Para peserta ditempatkan di tiga kabupaten dan satu kota, yaitu Kabupaten Kediri, Kabupaten Tulungagung, Kabupaten Nganjuk, serta Kota Kediri.

Untuk wilayah Kabupaten Kediri, lokasi KKN tersebar di tiga kecamatan, yaitu Kepung, Wates, dan Ngancar. Sementara itu, Kabupaten Tulungagung di kecamatan dengan Boyolangu dengan delapan desa, dan Kabupaten Nganjuk di kecamatan Ngronggot. Sebaran lokasi ini diharapkan dapat memperluas dampak program KKN sekaligus memberikan pengalaman empiris yang lebih beragam bagi mahasiswa.
Dr. Hariadi Darmawan juga menegaskan bahwa pelaksanaan KKN PSDKU UB Kediri tidak hanya berorientasi pada banyaknya program, tetapi lebih menekankan pada luaran yang jelas, terukur, dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Mahasiswa didorong untuk tidak sekadar menjalankan kegiatan seremonial, tetapi mampu menghasilkan output yang dapat ditindaklanjuti, baik dalam bentuk produk, inovasi, pendampingan masyarakat, publikasi, maupun program berkelanjutan.
“KKN tahun ini diarahkan agar mahasiswa fokus pada luaran. Tidak perlu sibuk membuat program yang terlalu banyak, tetapi yang terpenting adalah luaran yang dihasilkan dapat dirasakan manfaatnya oleh masyarakat,” ujar Ketua KKN PSDKU UB Kediri, Dr. Hariadi Darmawan, Ph.D, Selasa, (30/06/2026).
Selain KKN reguler, kegiatan pengabdian mahasiswa juga terintegrasi dengan berbagai skema lain, seperti KKN Desa Mitra, Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) Dikti, serta Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa). Dengan adanya tambahan 2 SKS, kegiatan KKN kini memiliki bobot total 6 SKS, sehingga diharapkan dapat semakin memperkuat rekognisi akademik terhadap aktivitas pengabdian mahasiswa di masyarakat.
Direktur PSDKU UB Kediri, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sholeh Hadi Pramono, M.S dalam sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa KKN merupakan kegiatan wajib yang memiliki nilai penting bagi pembentukan karakter dan kepekaan sosial mahasiswa. Melalui KKN, mahasiswa diharapkan tidak hanya memahami teori di ruang kelas, tetapi juga mampu melihat langsung kondisi empiris masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah desa dan kelurahan.
Menurutnya, mahasiswa perlu belajar berempati, memahami budaya masyarakat, mengenali pola pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup, serta mampu membaca berbagai persoalan yang terjadi di lapangan. Dari proses tersebut, mahasiswa diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan pemikiran dan solusi yang relevan bagi masyarakat.
“Mahasiswa perlu mengetahui kondisi nyata masyarakat, bagaimana bentuk budaya, kebutuhan hidup, serta persoalan yang dihadapi. Dari situlah mahasiswa diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi pemikiran dan solusi bagi masyarakat,” ujarnya.

Direktur juga menekankan bahwa dunia saat ini bergerak sangat cepat dan penuh ketidakpastian. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa harus memiliki kemampuan beradaptasi, berpikir kritis, serta menyelesaikan berbagai tantangan dengan pendekatan akademik dan praktis. Permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat tidak cukup diselesaikan hanya dengan teori, tetapi perlu pendekatan yang aplikatif, kolaboratif, dan sesuai kebutuhan lokal.
Dalam konteks PSDKU UB Kediri yang memiliki kekuatan pada bidang agrokompleks, KKN juga menjadi wadah bagi mahasiswa untuk mendukung pembangunan masyarakat berbasis potensi lokal. Mahasiswa diharapkan mampu mengintegrasikan berbagai disiplin ilmu untuk menjawab tantangan yang ada di desa, mulai dari pertanian, peternakan, perikanan, lingkungan, kewirausahaan, hingga pemberdayaan masyarakat.
Direktur menambahkan bahwa kemajuan dan kesejahteraan desa merupakan fondasi penting dalam memajukan negara. Karena itu, mahasiswa perlu melihat desa bukan hanya sebagai lokasi pengabdian, tetapi juga sebagai ruang pembelajaran, inovasi, dan kolaborasi untuk menciptakan perubahan yang berkelanjutan.
Selain aspek program, mahasiswa juga diingatkan untuk menjaga etika selama menjalankan KKN. Etika pergaulan, komunikasi dengan masyarakat, serta etika dalam melaksanakan aktivitas menjadi bagian penting yang harus diperhatikan. Mahasiswa membawa nama baik pribadi, kelompok, program studi, dan Universitas Brawijaya, sehingga seluruh kegiatan harus dilakukan dengan sikap santun, bertanggung jawab, dan menghargai nilai-nilai lokal.
Melalui pelepasan KKN ini, PSDKU UB Kediri berharap mahasiswa dapat menjalankan tugas pengabdian dengan baik, memberikan manfaat nyata bagi masyarakat, serta menghasilkan luaran yang berdampak dan berkelanjutan. KKN bukan hanya menjadi kewajiban akademik, tetapi juga momentum bagi mahasiswa untuk belajar dari masyarakat dan bersama-sama membangun desa.
