JATIMTIMES - Arema FC memastikan tidak melakukan perubahan di jajaran pelatih utama untuk menyongsong Super League 2026/2027. Manajemen Singo Edan resmi memberikan kepercayaan kepada Marcos Santos untuk tetap menukangi tim pada musim kedua, didampingi Andre Caldas yang kembali mendapat perpanjangan kontrak sebagai asisten pelatih.

Keputusan tersebut diambil setelah manajemen menuntaskan evaluasi menyeluruh terhadap perjalanan Arema FC sepanjang kompetisi musim 2025/2026. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan program yang telah dibangun tim pelatih dinilai layak diteruskan demi menjaga konsistensi sekaligus meningkatkan daya saing tim pada musim mendatang.

General Manager Arema FC, Yusrinal Fitriandi, mengatakan kesinambungan menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam proses pembangunan tim. Karena itu, manajemen memilih mempertahankan komposisi pelatih yang sudah memahami karakter skuad dan kompetisi di Indonesia.

"Kami memutuskan untuk mempertahankan Coach Marcos Santos sebagai pelatih kepala dan Coach Andre Caldas sebagai asisten pelatih untuk musim 2026/2027. Kami melihat ada fondasi yang sudah dibangun dan perlu dilanjutkan agar proses pengembangan tim berjalan lebih baik," ujar Yusrinal.

Menurutnya, keberhasilan Marcos Santos menjaga keharmonisan ruang ganti menjadi salah satu aspek yang mendapat perhatian dalam evaluasi. Selama kompetisi berlangsung, tim mampu menjaga situasi internal tetap kondusif sehingga para pemain bisa fokus menjalani pertandingan.

"Coach Marcos berhasil mengayomi pemain dan menjaga suasana tim tetap kondusif. Selama musim berjalan kami tidak menemukan persoalan internal yang mengganggu tim. Itu menjadi salah satu nilai penting dalam evaluasi kami," katanya.

Manajemen juga menilai keberlanjutan kepemimpinan menjadi kebutuhan Arema FC setelah dalam beberapa musim terakhir cukup sering berganti pelatih di tengah kompetisi. Marcos Santos dianggap mampu menuntaskan musim dengan baik sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa program kepelatihannya berjalan sesuai rencana.

"Selama beberapa musim terakhir kami cukup sering berganti pelatih. Coach Marcos mampu menyelesaikan musim dan menunjukkan bahwa program yang dijalankannya bisa berjalan dengan baik. Kami merasa dia layak mendapatkan kesempatan untuk melanjutkan pekerjaannya," tambah Yusrinal.

Kepercayaan kepada pelatih asal Brasil itu juga didasarkan pada keterlibatannya dalam menyusun kekuatan tim menghadapi musim baru. Marcos disebut aktif berdiskusi dengan manajemen untuk menentukan kebutuhan skuad, termasuk memberikan rekomendasi pemain yang dinilai sesuai dengan karakter permainan yang diinginkan.

"Dia sudah memahami kompetisi Indonesia, karakter pemain dan kebutuhan tim. Bahkan dia ikut membantu proses pencarian pemain untuk musim depan. Itu menjadi salah satu pertimbangan kami untuk melanjutkan kerja sama," jelasnya.

Dengan kepastian bertahannya Marcos Santos dan Andre Caldas, Arema FC kini mengalihkan fokus pada penyempurnaan komposisi pemain sebelum bergulirnya Super League 2026/2027.
