Menurut Emily LaMarque, pendiri Emily LaMarque Design Studio yang dikutip The Spruce, furnitur dan dekorasi yang ukurannya tidak sesuai dengan ruangan akan langsung mengurangi nilai estetika sebuah interior.
"Tidak peduli seberapa mahal barang tersebut, jika tidak sesuai dengan ruangan, maka akan terlihat tidak pada tempatnya dan gagal mendukung keseluruhan desain," jelas LaMarque.
3. Warna dan Material yang Tidak Konsisten Menggabungkan terlalu banyak warna, tekstur, atau material tanpa konsep yang jelas dapat membuat rumah terlihat acak dan kurang harmonis.
LaMarque menyarankan agar setiap ruangan memiliki benang merah yang sama, baik dari segi warna, bentuk, tekstur, maupun material. Konsistensi desain akan menciptakan kesan yang lebih mewah dan menyatu di seluruh area rumah.
4. Salah Memilih Panjang Gorden Gorden menjadi salah satu elemen dekorasi yang sering dianggap sepele. Padahal, ukuran gorden yang tidak tepat bisa memengaruhi tampilan ruangan secara keseluruhan.

Gorden yang terlalu pendek dapat membuat jendela terlihat kurang proporsional. Sebaliknya, gorden yang terlalu panjang hingga menumpuk berlebihan di lantai juga dapat mengurangi keindahan ruangan.
5. Menggunakan Dekorasi yang Terlalu Kecil Dekorasi berukuran kecil sering kali kurang menonjol ketika ditempatkan di ruangan yang luas. Akibatnya, dekorasi tersebut terlihat "hilang" dan tidak memberikan dampak visual yang signifikan.
Jika memiliki beberapa dekorasi kecil, sebaiknya kelompokkan dalam satu area yang sama. Cara ini dapat menciptakan titik fokus yang lebih menarik dan membuat tampilan ruangan terasa lebih seimbang.
