JATIMTIMES - Kota Malang kembali menghadapi persoalan klasik menjelang pelaksanaan Sistem Penerimaan Murid Baru (SPMB) 2026. Sebanyak 46 persen lulusan SD/MI dipastikan tidak bisa tertampung di SMP negeri karena keterbatasan pagu sekolah.
Data Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kota Malang menunjukkan, dari total 13.792 lulusan SD/MI tahun ini, hanya tersedia 7.360 kursi di SMP negeri se-Kota Malang. Artinya, lebih dari 6 ribu siswa harus mencari alternatif sekolah lain.

Kepala Bidang Pembinaan Pendidikan Dasar Disdikbud Kota Malang, Muflikh Adhim, mengatakan, keterbatasan daya tampung tersebut memang tidak bisa dihindari karena kuota sudah disesuaikan dengan jumlah rombongan belajar dan kapasitas kelas.
“Sekitar 6.000 sekian itu tidak bisa kita tampung di SMP negeri. Sebagai alternatif, mereka bisa masuk ke sekolah swasta atau ke sekolah berbasis pondok pesantren dan lain sebagainya,” ujar Adhim belum lama ini.
Ketimpangan paling tinggi terjadi di Kecamatan Sukun. Dari 3.133 lulusan SD, hanya tersedia 1.088 kursi SMP negeri yang tersebar di lima sekolah. Dengan demikian, sebanyak 2.045 siswa tidak tertampung di sekolah negeri.
Sementara di Kecamatan Kedungkandang, terdapat 3.096 lulusan SD dengan pagu SMP negeri hanya 1.408 kursi di enam sekolah. Artinya, sebanyak 1.688 siswa pun tidak bisa masuk SMP negeri.
Di Kecamatan Lowokwaru, dari 2.825 lulusan SD, hanya tersedia 1.440 kursi SMP negeri, sehingga terdapat selisih 1.385 siswa yang tidak tertampung.
Kondisi serupa juga terjadi di Kecamatan Blimbing. Dari 2.499 lulusan SD, pagu SMP negeri hanya mencapai 1.184 kursi yang tersebar di lima sekolah. Jadi, sebanyak 1.315 siswa harus mencari sekolah alternatif.
Berbeda dengan kecamatan lain, Kecamatan Klojen menjadi wilayah dengan ketimpangan paling rendah. Dari 2.239 lulusan SD, tersedia 2.240 kursi SMP negeri yang tersebar di delapan sekolah.

Adhim menjelaskan, pelaksanaan SPMB 2026 jenjang SMP akan berlangsung serentak pada 8-10 Juni 2026 dengan beberapa jalur penerimaan.
“Dalam SPMB jenjang SMP, 40 persen dari pagu diterima lewat jalur domisili. Sisanya, 25 persen lewat jalur afirmasi, 20 persen jalur prestasi akademik, 10 persen prestasi non-akademik dan 5 persen jalur mutasi,” jelasnya.
Sebagai solusi atas ketimpangan tersebut, Disdikbud Kota Malang juga melibatkan sekolah swasta dalam pelaksanaan SPMB tahun ini. Nantinya, masyarakat dapat melihat informasi sekolah swasta yang masih memiliki kuota lengkap beserta rincian biaya dan keunggulan masing-masing sekolah.
“Nanti akan kami tampilkan swasta mana yang masih tersedia pagunya. Selain menampilkan pagu, kami sediakan juga informasi terkait SPP, uang bangunan hingga keunggulan tiap sekolah seperti ekstrakurikulernya,” pungkasnya.
