JATIM TIMES - Back to nature merupakan kata yang tepat untuk mengisi konsep liburan kalian yang sebentar lagi akan tiba. Konsep yang mengusung slogan ‘back to nature’ ini banyak tersedia di Malang. Salah satunya yaitu berlibur ke air terjun. 

Di Malang, banyak sekali wisata alam air terjun yang terkenal seperti Coban Rondo, Coban Rais dan masih banyak lagi. Namun untuk coban yang satu ini merupakan ‘hidden gems’ yang ada di Malang, di mana tidak semua kalangan tahu destinasi ini, yaitu Coban Jahe.

Coban Jahe merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak air terjun cantik yang ada di Malang yang dapat menjadi list liburan anda untuk berkunjung. Tempat wisata Coban Jahe juga dikenal sebagai Air Terjun Begawan. Air Terjun Coban Jahe ini berada di Desa Pandansari Lor, Kecamatan Jabung, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur.

Meski bernama jahe, namun air terjun ini tidak ada kaitannya dengan jahe. Dalam sejarahnya, Nama jahe berasal dari kata 'pejahe' yang berarti meninggal dunia. 

Kali Jahe menjadi sumber air di sini yang tak lepas dari kisah perlawanan Ali Murtopo terhadap penjajah Belanda. Di mana pada waktu itu, banyak pejuang yang gugur dalam pertempuran. Gugur dalam bahasa Jawa berarti pejah. Di mana, lambat laun nama tersebut berubah menjadi Coban Jahe yang dikenal hingga kini. Fakta uniknya, para pejuang yang gugur dimakamkan tak jauh dari air terjun, dimana terletak di area taman makam pahlawan kali jahe.

Air Terjun Coban Jahe memiliki ketinggian yang berkisar 45 m. Di mana di sekitarnya terdapat batu-batuan yang berukuran raksasa, pepohonan dan semak yang tumbuh rimbun, menjadikan suasana rindang dan menciptakan hawa yang segar. Kawasan Coban Jahe sendiri sangat ramai dikunjungi wisatawan khususnya pada Sabtu dan Minggu.

Untuk perjalanannya, Jarak dari Malang ke Coban Jahe sekitar 25 kilometer. Yang bisa ditempuh kurang lebih satu jam perjalanan. Anda dapat berangkat melalui jalan Adi Sucipto kemudian menuju Kecamatan Blimbing, lalu ke Tumpang. Selanjutnya Anda akan melewati kawasan Taman Makam Pahlawan Kali Jahe. Anda bisa langsung lanjut ke parkiran Coban Jahe.

Untuk mendapatkan tiket masuk ke Coban Jahe ini, wisatawan akan dibanderol tiket seharga Rp. 25.000, di mana tarif ini sudah sekalian tarif parkir. Terkait jam operasionalnya, Coban Jahe buka setiap hari yakni mulai pukul 08.00 WIB sampai sore hari.
