JATIMTIMES – Di tengah masifnya kepemilikan ponsel pintar (smartphone) dan jaringan internet rumahan, bisnis warung internet (warnet) ternyata belum sepenuhnya punah. Bisnis persewaan komputer ini terbukti masih memiliki pangsa pasar yang loyal dan mampu bertahan hingga satu dekade terakhir.

Pengusaha warnet di Desa Bulukerto, Anang Widodo, mengungkapkan bahwa kunci eksistensi usahanya terletak pada pemenuhan kebutuhan komunitas. Berbeda dengan masa lalu yang mengandalkan fungsi browsing, warnet zaman sekarang lebih banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai ruang interaksi sosial.
“Rata-rata pelanggan kami datang supaya bisa main bareng (mabar) dengan teman-temannya. Kebanyakan yang dicari memang gim online berbasis PC, dan kami sebisa mungkin selalu menyediakan gim-gim terbaru,” ujar Anang.
Pengelola Vinz'Amigos Gaming itu memaparkan, kondisi bisnisnya sejauh ini terbilang cukup stabil meskipun fluktuasi pendapatan tetap terjadi di bulan-bulan tertentu. Konsumen yang datang pun memiliki rentang usia yang cukup lebar, mulai dari kalangan pelajar hingga kategori dewasa.
Terkait peta persaingan, Anang menilai keberadaan internet mandiri di rumah-rumah tidak terlalu mengancam karena kebutuhan setiap orang berbeda. Menurutnya, tantangan terbesar bisnis warnet saat ini justru datang dari tuntutan pembaruan teknologi itu sendiri.
"Kalau persaingan internet mungkin tergantung kebutuhan masing-masing, tapi kalau kami tantangannya ada di hardware PC. Setiap tahun selalu ada pembaruan hardware, dan gim terbaru biasanya menuntut spesifikasi PC yang ikut berkembang," jelas dia.

Demi menjawab tantangan zaman dan menjaga kepuasan pelanggan, warnet miliknya saat ini masih mempertahankan tarif ramah kantong sebesar Rp 5.000 per jam. Namun, dalam waktu dekat, pihak manajemen telah merencanakan langkah ekspansi bisnis yang cukup berani.
Anang berencana melakukan penambahan unit PC baru dengan spesifikasi mutakhir yang siap melibas gim-gim berat masa kini. Unit premium tersebut nantinya akan ditargetkan dengan harga sewa mulai dari Rp 10.000 ke atas per jamnya.
