JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Malang memastikan rencana revitalisasi Pasar Besar Malang melalui skema kerja sama pemerintah dan badan usaha (KPBU) masih berada pada tahap awal. Saat ini, proses yang berjalan masih sebatas pemenuhan berbagai persyaratan administratif yang dibutuhkan dalam skema tersebut.
Kepala Dinas Koperasi, Perindustrian, dan Perdagangan (Diskopindag) Kota Malang Eko Sri Yuliadi mengatakan percepatan penataan pasar menjadi harapan bersama antara pemerintah dan masyarakat. Selain Pasar Besar, sejumlah pasar lain seperti Pasar Tawangmangu dan Pasar Blimbing juga dinilai membutuhkan perbaikan karena belum banyak tersentuh revitalisasi.

“Ekspektasi kita sama dengan masyarakat, bahwa penanganan pasar di Kota Malang ini bisa segera selesai. Untuk Pasar Besar, melalui KPBU, semuanya masih dalam proses pengadministrasian. Pemenuhan kebutuhan-kebutuhan yang dibutuhkan oleh KPBU itu akan kita penuhi semua,” ujar Eko, Minggu (31/5/2026).
Menurut dia, masih banyak tahapan yang harus dilalui sebelum proyek revitalisasi benar-benar berjalan. Karena itu, pemerintah belum dapat menyampaikan detail skema pembiayaan maupun teknis pelaksanaannya.
Ia menegaskan bahwa berbagai asumsi terkait mekanisme pembayaran dari pemkot kepada pihak badan usaha dalam skema KPBU masih terlalu dini untuk dibahas. Sebab, formulasi skema tersebut hingga kini belum ditetapkan.
“Jangan sampai mempunyai persepsi yang terlalu jauh dulu bahwa nanti pemkot akan membayar ke KPBU dan sebagainya. Skema-skema itu belum kita buat. Lebih baik menunggu informasi lebih lanjut dari pemerintah saja,” ucapnya.
Eko memastikan, setelah terdapat kepastian dari proses KPBU, Pemkot Malang akan mengundang para pedagang Pasar Besar untuk berdiskusi dan menyampaikan rencana pembangunan secara terbuka.
Selain membahas revitalisasi Pasar Besar, Diskopindag juga menanggapi wacana relokasi pedagang kaki lima (PKL) Pasar Kebalen ke kawasan Pasar Induk Gadang (PIG). Wacana tersebut sebelumnya disampaikan oleh Wali Kota Malang Wahyu Hidayat sebagai bagian dari penataan kawasan pasar dan PKL di Kota Malang.

Meski demikian, Eko memastikan penempatan PKL Kebalen tidak akan menggunakan lahan yang saat ini telah ditempati pedagang di Pasar Induk Gadang. Pemkot justru menyiapkan opsi perluasan area agar tidak menimbulkan persoalan baru.
“Pastinya tidak hanya di situ. Kita akan sediakan lahan lagi, lahan tersendiri. Bukan lahan yang sudah ada itu. Mungkin ada perluasan atau penambahan lahan yang nanti akan kita tata untuk penempatan PKL,” katanya.
Ia berharap lokasi tambahan tersebut dapat direalisasikan di sekitar kawasan Pasar Induk Gadang sehingga tetap terintegrasi dengan aktivitas perdagangan yang sudah berjalan. “Mudah-mudahan di sekitaran pasar saja, sekitar Pasar Induk Gadang. Jadi, bukan lahan yang sekarang ada ditambah PKL Kebalen, tidak. Tetapi pasti ada penambahan atau perluasan lahan,” pungkasnya.
