JATIMTIMES - Seorang pria berusia 48 tahun berinisial SB, warga Jalan Dhoho, Desa Jenggolo, Kecamatan Kepanjen, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur, tewas diduga terkena ledakan petasan buatannya sendiri. Insiden nahas tersebut terjadi saat korban sedang membuat petasan pada Sabtu (23/5/2026).
Dugaan korban yang tewas karena terkena ledakan petasan tersebut, diperkuat dengan sejumlah barang bukti berupa mercon yang ditemukan polisi. Barang bukti tersebut didapat petugas di rumah korban tempat membuat mercon yang beralamat di Kecamatan Kepanjen tersebut.

Hingga hari ini, Minggu (24/5/2026), insiden ledakan petasan yang merenggut nyawa seorang pembuat mercon tersebut masih dalam penyelidikan kepolisian. "Satu buah ember berisi petasan berbagai ukuran yang siap diledakkan telah diamankan sebagai barang bukti," ujar Kapolsek Kepanjen Kompol Subijanto.
Sebagaimana diberitakan sebelumnya, peristiwa nahas yang dialami korban tersebut terjadi pada Sabtu (23/5/2026) pagi menjelang siang sekitar pukul 11.15 WIB. Akibat kejadian tersebut, korban mengalami sejumlah luka di sekujur tubuhnya karena terkena ledakan mercon hingga mengakibatkan yang bersangkutan meninggal dunia.
Ledakan dari petasan yang dibuat korban tersebut cukup besar. Bahkan beberapa bagian bangunan di rumah korban tempat membuat petasan tersebut juga mengalami kerusakan yang cukup parah. Sehingga polisi yang melakukan penyelidikan dan olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) juga nampak naik ke bagian atap yang turut rusak dalam kejadian tersebut.
Selain melakukan olah TKP, polisi juga turut meminta keterangan dari sejumlah saksi. Dari hasil pemeriksaan sementara itulah yang kemudian diketahui jika korban diduga merupakan pembuat petasan.

"Dari keterangan saksi termasuk tetangganya, korban memang pembuat mercon yang diduga hendak dijual saat Iduladha," ujarnya.
Sebagaimana yang juga telah disampaikan sebelumnya, dugaan bahwa korban merupakan pembuat petasan tersebut juga diperkuat dengan barang bukti yang ditemukan polisi. Yakni berupa ember berisi petasan berbagai ukuran yang siap diledakkan. "Akibat kejadian tersebut menyebabkan korban meninggal dunia," pungkasnya.
