JATIMTIMES - Isu munculnya “pocong begal” yang belakangan viral di media sosial dipastikan hoaks oleh Polresta Malang Kota. Polisi menyebut hingga Sabtu (23/5/2026) tidak ada laporan maupun kejadian terkait sosok misterius tersebut di wilayah hukum Kota Malang.
Belakangan ini, masyarakat dihebohkan dengan unggahan video dan pesan berantai di media sosial hingga status WhatsApp yang menyebut adanya sosok menyerupai pocong yang diduga melakukan aksi kriminal di jalanan. Informasi itu pun sempat memicu keresahan warga.

Menanggapi viralnya isu tersebut, Polresta Malang Kota langsung meningkatkan patroli malam di sejumlah titik yang dianggap rawan guna memastikan situasi keamanan tetap kondusif.
Kasi Humas Polresta Malang Kota, Ipda Lukman Sobhikin, menegaskan bahwa informasi terkait “pocong begal” tidak benar.
“Bahwa sampai saat ini tidak ada kejadian maupun laporan resmi terkait ‘pocong begal’ di wilayah hukum Polresta Malang Kota,” ujar Lukman, Minggu (24/5/2026).
Ia mengatakan, hasil pemantauan dari seluruh Polsek juga tidak ditemukan adanya indikasi kejadian yang ramai diperbincangkan di media sosial.
“Situasi di wilayah Kota Malang aman dan kondusif. Kami berharap masyarakat tidak mudah percaya terhadap informasi yang belum terverifikasi,” imbuh Lukman.
Selain patroli rutin dari Unit Tombak, tim perintis Samapta, dan personel kepolisian juga menggencarkan pendekatan langsung ke masyarakat melalui kegiatan sambang dan silaturahmi ke pos keamanan lingkungan atau poskamling.
Menurut Lukman, langkah tersebut dilakukan untuk memperkuat partisipasi warga dalam menjaga keamanan lingkungan sekaligus mencegah penyebaran kabar bohong yang dapat menimbulkan kepanikan.

“Masyarakat jangan mudah terpancing isu yang sumber informasinya tidak jelas. Jika terus disebarkan tanpa kepastian fakta, hal itu justru bisa membuat keresahan di tengah masyarakat,” tegas Lukman
Polresta Malang Kota juga meminta masyarakat segera melapor apabila menemukan tindakan mencurigakan ataupun potensi gangguan keamanan melalui layanan darurat 110 maupun hotline Jogo Malang Presisi.
“Silakan segera melapor agar bisa cepat ditindaklanjuti oleh petugas di lapangan,” imbuhnya.
Pihaknya memastikan akan mengambil tindakan tegas kepada masyarakat yang sengaja membuat keresahan serta menyebarkan informasi palsu yang berpotensi mengganggu kamtibmas di Kota Malang.
