JATIMTIMES - Pelayanan penerbitan surat izin mengemudi (SIM) di Polresta Malang Kota tutup sementara selama libur nasional dan cuti bersama Hari Kenaikan Yesus Kristus. Penutupan layanan tersebut berlaku selama dua hari, yakni pada 14 hingga 15 Mei 2026.
Kebijakan libur pelayanan ini diberlakukan untuk menyesuaikan kalender nasional yang telah ditetapkan pemerintah. Sehingga bagi masyarakat yang berencana mengurus perpanjangan SIM diminta menyesuaikan jadwal agar tidak melewati masa tenggang yang sudah ditentukan.

Kasat Lantas Polresta Malang Kota AKP Rio Angga Prasetyo mengatakan bahwa pelayanan akan kembali dibuka khusus bagi pemohon perpanjangan SIM yang masa berlakunya habis saat libur. Kesempatan itu diberikan pada 16 Mei dan 18 Mei 2026 sebagai masa dispensasi bagi masyarakat.
“Bagi pemohon yang masa berlaku SIM-nya habis pada tanggal 14 dan 15 Mei 2026, kami berikan waktu perpanjangan pada 16 dan 18 Mei 2026,” kata Rio, Kamis (14/5/2026).
Rio menegaskan bahwa kebijakan ini berlaku khusus bagi pemegang SIM yang jatuh tempo pada masa libur nasional tersebut. Masyarakat diimbau untuk memanfaatkan tenggang waktu tersebut karena dispensasi hanya berlaku dalam dua hari pelayanan yang telah ditentukan.
Jika pemohon tidak datang untuk memperpanjang SIM pada tanggal tersebut, perpanjangan tidak lagi bisa dilakukan seperti biasa.
Menurut Rio, keterlambatan di luar jadwal dispensasi akan membuat pemohon harus mengikuti prosedur pembuatan SIM baru. Dengan demikian, pemohon wajib menjalani seluruh tahapan dari awal, termasuk registrasi ulang dan ujian sesuai ketentuan.

“Kalau tidak melakukan perpanjangan pada tanggal yang sudah diberikan, maka akan diberlakukan mekanisme penerbitan SIM baru,” kata Rio.
Menurut dia, aturan tersebut mengacu pada ketentuan administrasi yang berlaku secara nasional. Satlantas Polresta Malang Kota juga mengmbau masyarakat untuk tidak menunda pengurusan SIM hingga mendekati masa kedaluwarsa.
Rio berharap masyarakat bisa memperhatikan jadwal tersebut dan segera memanfaatkan kesempatan perpanjangan pada hari yang sudah ditentukan. Dengan demikian, pemohon tidak perlu mengulang proses dari awal hanya karena melewati batas waktu dispensasi.
