JATIMTIMES – Guna menjaga keamanan perairan sekaligus keselamatan nelayan, Satpolairud Polres Situbondo rutin menggelar patroli laut dengan menyisir perairan Kalbut hingga Tanjung Kamal, Kecamatan Mangaran, Rabu (6/5/2026). Kegiatan patroli dipimpin langsung oleh Kasat Polairud AKP Gede Sukarmadiyasa ini berfokus pada para nelayan yang sedang beraktivitas di laut.
Sejak pagi, petugas terlihat mendatangi perahu-perahu nelayan. Selain memantau situasi, anggota juga memberikan imbauan secara langsung terkait keselamatan saat melaut. "Keselamatan harus jadi prioritas. Pastikan membawa pelampung, alat komunikasi, dan memperhatikan kondisi cuaca sebelum berangkat," kata AKP Gede di sela patroli.

Selain itu, nelayan juga diingatkan untuk melengkapi dokumen kapal serta tetap waspada terhadap perubahan cuaca yang bisa terjadi sewaktu-waktu. Dalam patroli tersebut, petugas juga mengajak masyarakat pesisir ikut menjaga keamanan laut. Nelayan diminta melaporkan jika menemukan aktivitas mencurigakan seperti pungutan liar, perjudian, hingga penyalahgunaan BBM bersubsidi.
Petugas juga menyosialisasikan layanan Call Center Polri 110. Masyarakat diimbau segera menghubungi layanan tersebut apabila menemukan gangguan kamtibmas, tindak kriminalitas, atau membutuhkan bantuan kepolisian.
Tak hanya soal keamanan, Satpolairud juga menekankan pentingnya menjaga kelestarian laut. Nelayan diimbau tidak menggunakan alat tangkap yang merusak, seperti bom atau bahan berbahaya lainnya.
"Kalau laut rusak, kita semua yang rugi. Jadi mari kita jaga bersama," tegasnya.
Salah satu nelayan, Hasan (45), mengaku terbantu dengan kehadiran polisi di laut. Ia mengatakan imbauan yang diberikan membuat dirinya lebih sadar akan pentingnya keselamatan saat melaut.

"Dengan adanya patroli ini kami jadi lebih ingat soal keselamatan. Kadang nelayan suka lengah, sekarang jadi lebih hati-hati," ujarnya.
Hasan juga berharap kegiatan patroli seperti ini terus dilakukan agar nelayan merasa aman saat bekerja di laut. Dengan patroli rutin ini, diharapkan aktivitas nelayan di wilayah Situbondo bisa berjalan aman, tertib, dan tetap menjaga kelestarian lingkungan laut.
