JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Surabaya segera melakukan penataan Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS). Penataan yang dilakukan kali ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan berkunjung ke KBS.

Wali Kota Surabaya Eri Cahyadi mengatakan, penataan yang dilakukan pemkot mulai dari sisi depan KBS. Yakni pintu masuk, pintu keluar, dan plaza yang ada di dekat patung Sura dan Baya. Tidak hanya penataan tampilan. Dia menyampaikan, KBS juga akan mendapatkan koleksi satwa baru dalam waktu dekat.

“Jadi terkait pintu masuk, pintu keluar, terkait dengan plaza-plaza yang ada di KBS. Karena ini menunjang KBS, kita juga akan mendapatkan binatang baru karena terkait adanya kerjasama dengan Jepang, sehingga menjadi tambahan satwa di KBS,” kata Eri saat ditemui di KBS, Jumat (24/4/2026). 

Eri mengungkapkan, rencananya satwa yang akan menjadi penghuni baru KBS ada beberapa pasang. Meski demikian, ia tidak mengungkapkan jenis satwa yang akan didatangkan ke KBS. “Ada beberapa pasang, tunggu tanggal mainnya,” ungkapnya. 

Wali kota Surabaya yang akrab dengan sapaan Cak Eri Cahyadi itu menyampaikan, penataan akan dimulai pada April 2026. Rencananya, progres penataan KBS akan tuntas antara September hingga Oktober mendatang. 

Cak Eri menerangkan, dalam penataan tersebut Pemkot berencana mengintegrasikan antara pintu masuk dan pintu keluar KBS. “Jadi orang itu merasa ketika melihat itu (KBS) ingin masuk, jadi itu yang kita lakukan. Untuk bentuknya (desainnya) seperti apa, suprise nanti, KBS akan berubah sangat menarik,” terangnya.

Di samping itu, Kepala Dinas Perumahan Rakyat dan Kawasan Permukiman serta Pertanahan (DPRKPP) Kota Surabaya Iman Krestian mengatakan, pemkot akan melakukan penataan KBS dimulai dari tampilan sisi luarnya terlebih dahulu. Rencananya, tampilan luar KBS nantinya akan lebih terbuka dan dibuat lebih menarik. 

“Terutama tampilan luarnya dulu ya, area plaza ini kelihatannya kan sudah rungsep (tidak terawat) lah ini. Jadi akan lebih terbuka, kemudian di depan itu kan ada pos polisi sudah kita minta untuk bergeser, nanti area taman juga akan menyatu dengan area gerbang utamanya KBS ini,” kata Iman. 

Iman menyebutkan, tujuan penataan ini agar tampilan depan KBS lebih tertata rapi. Terutama pada bagian sisi depan dan pintu masuk yang menuju ke area dalam KBS. “Akan kita rapikan, bagian depan plazanya, fasadnya kita sesuaikan nanti. Jadi area patung dengan KBS ini akan menyatu,” ujarnya. 

Iman menjelaskan, proses penataan akan dilakukan dalam waktu dekat. Kedua akses pintu masuk dan plaza KBS sisi selatan dan utara akan dikerjakan secara paralel. Konsep desain yang diusung yakni Organik, menyesuaikan dengan KBS. “Paralel semua ini ya, kita butuh waktu enam bulan untuk tuntas. Tahun ini selesai, karena pengerjaannya relatif minor,” jelasnya. 

Dirinya menambahkan, penataan ini bertujuan untuk peremajaan tampilan agar KBS lebih layak untuk pengunjung. Selain itu, lanjut dia, adanya penataan ini juga mendukung konsep night zoo, agar pengunjung tertarik untuk berkunjung ke KBS. 

“Pak Wali kan juga minta, agar menarik konsep night zoo-nya bisa lebih tersajikan kepada warga dan warga tertarik untuk masuk ke KBS. Ya ini lebih dipromosikan lagi,” pungkasnya.
