JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota Malang memanfaatkan sisa musim hujan untuk mempercepat masa tanam padi. Langkah ini diambil di tengah kondisi iklim yang masih memungkinkan produksi pertanian tetap optimal.

Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian (Dispangtan) Kota Malang, Slamet Husnan, mengatakan percepatan tanam dilakukan karena curah hujan di Jawa Timur diperkirakan masih berlangsung hingga akhir April.

“Pagi ini kita melaksanakan kegiatan tanam serentak di Kelurahan Mulyorejo, Kecamatan Sukun, dalam rangka percepatan tanam saat musim hujan masih ada. Menurut BMKG, untuk Jawa Timur sampai akhir April masih ada hujan,” ujarnya.

Ia menjelaskan, kondisi iklim dengan kategori El Nino sedang tidak terlalu berdampak signifikan terhadap ketersediaan air di Kota Malang. Bahkan, suplai air dari sungai-sungai disebut relatif aman hampir sepanjang tahun.

“Di Kota Malang sendiri hampir satu tahun penuh air tercukupi dari sungai-sungai yang ada,” tambahnya.

Lokasi tanam di Mulyorejo dipilih karena masih tersedia lahan siap tanam seluas 1,1 hektare. Sementara itu, lahan pertanian di kecamatan lain justru telah lebih dulu ditanami dan kini memasuki usia tanam sekitar 35 hari.

“Kalau empat kecamatan yang lain kebetulan sudah mulai tanam lebih awal. Sudah umur 35 hari. Sementara di Mulyorejo masih ada lahan sekitar 1,1 hektare yang akan ditanami,” jelasnya.

Selain percepatan tanam, Pemkot Malang juga menyalurkan bantuan benih padi untuk mendukung produktivitas petani. Total bantuan mencapai 10 ton benih varietas Inpari 32 dan Inpari 45 untuk tahun anggaran 2026.

“Total benih padi yang diberikan 10.000 kilogram atau 10 ton. Harapannya para petani bisa melaksanakan usaha taninya tanpa harus kebingungan dalam menyediakan benih padinya,” kata Slamet.

Terkait pupuk bersubsidi, ia memastikan kebutuhan petani telah direncanakan jauh hari melalui sistem e-RDKK (Rencana Definitif Kebutuhan Kelompok Tani). Bahkan, penyusunan kebutuhan untuk tahun berikutnya sudah mulai diproses.

“Kebutuhan 2026 telah direncanakan di 2025, dan untuk 2027 sudah berproses penyusunan e-RDKK,” ujarnya.

Diketahui, total luas lahan sawah di Kelurahan Mulyorejo mencapai sekitar 10 hektare. Dengan dukungan benih, pupuk, serta ketersediaan air yang mencukupi, Dispangtan Kota Malang berharap percepatan tanam ini mampu menjaga stabilitas produksi pangan di Kota Malang.
